A prayer for softness of heart

” Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life.”
Psalms 139:23-24, NLT.

Lord, I want a soft heart
Not a heart that won’t stray, but a heart that won’t fight You when You call me back.
Not a heart won’t feel betrayed by men, but a heart that will use Your standards as a guide to follow peace with all.
A heart with compassion, learning from You Jesus; the most gentle and lowly at heart.

Broken. Easily moved. Not ashamed of my tears when I give thanks.
Give me a heart for Your people, to love them as You do.
To love them as I love You.
To put them before me.

I desire You but not more than You desire me.
I smile shyly because my declarations of love sometimes come to nought.
Because my desires sometimes fail us, but Yours always keep us.
Abba, thank You for your jealousy, it keeps me.
Don’t stop being jealous, over me.

Take away this stony heart,
I accept Your tender, responsive heart instead.

Come and make my heart Your home
Come and be everything I am and all I know
Search me, through and through
Till my heart becomes, a home for You
A home for You, Lord
A home for You, Lord

Let everything I do, open up a door for You to come through
Then my heart would be, a place where You wanna be

Not a heart that won’t stray, but a heart that won’t fight You when You call me back.
Not a heart won’t feel betrayed by men, but a heart that will use Your standards as a guide to follow peace with all. 🤎

I have been singing this song since the week started. It’s not just worship but a heartfelt plea for Yeshua to come and dwell in you and me. Not in a temple made of hands (Acts 7:48; 17:24) but in a place where He finds joy in abiding, our hearts (Ezekiel 36:26).

You are closer to where God wants you to be than ever.
