Change…

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:
old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
(2 Corinthians 5:17, kjv)

Today, I listened to the lyrics of Changed by Geoffrey Golden and I remembered the first time I heard this song in my 3rd year. I absolutely loved the song and while I sang with my veins popping out of the brown skin at my neck, I simply sang words without meaning.

Old things are passed away
All things are new
I’m not the same, yeah
It’s true, I found my life in You
All things are new, I’m not the same

He changed me
Iโ€™ll never be the same

As I listened again, the words hit me and I realized that He actually changed me. I am new, nothing like I used to be.

So I pray for you right now, that though you might not see Him writing your story of change, weaving your tapestry, He is working and that change will become evident to you.

I pray that one day you look back and realize you did not just change a few habits, but you shed like old skin, the old man that you used to be. You will realize that through trials and tests and your perceived failures, He has been working His wonder in and on your heart.

Most of all, I pray that one day, I will sing this song again sometime in the future and a deeper dimension of change catalyzed by His love will be my reality. This I pray for you too, from the depth of my heart. Amen.
